Sectionals

It was a bit chilly, but at least it was dry, for the IHSA Sectionals meet in Aurora.  The course is runner-friendly, but not necessarily spectator-friendly, so it was a bit difficult getting adequate shots since we were limited in the number of times the runner went past us.  If any parents have additional photos, please send them my way.

Enjoy!

Getting ready at the Starting Line.

Warming up

They're off!!!

Nessa is first out of the woods.

Followed closely by Sandra.

Sonja...

...with Melody right behind her...

and Anne close by as well.

Alexus.

Waiting at the finish line.

If you look closely, you can see Sandra's sister and dog!

At the finish line.

If you look closely you can see Sonja's shadow.
(Sorry, Sonja, this girl snuck inbetween you and the camera at the last minute.)

Oops!  Sonja--slow down--I missed the second shot as well.

Another strong finish.

Official stats to follow, but most of these girls achieved their personal best in this race.  GREAT JOB, GIRLS!!!
(I think it was the pre-race meal!! Open-mouth smile)

Regionals

October 23, 2010
Labagh Woods Forest Preserve

Rain threatened to spoil the day for most of the morning, but the clouds gave through to sunshine and put a nice finishing touch on a great day.
Everyone put in a good effort, but the girls did especially well, making history for Walther Lutheran High School by being the first team ever to qualify as a team to go on to Sectionals!

Luther North was the host for Regionals.

The runners' views along the trail.

Warming up.

Sorry about that Sand...

No one said anything about an obstacle course--with moving obstacles!!!

Whew!  She made it safely through.

The girls earned themselves fifth place as a team overall and are heading to sectionals next week! (Amy should be in the picture too, but unfortunately left before this picture was taken.)

Proud coach with his team.

And now the boys...

First out of the wood for Walther

Whose bicep is this???

Crossing the finish line.

Not everyone was represented equally with the photos that I had.  Sometimes a runner's position did not allow me to get a good picture.  Please remember to forward any pictures your family members may have taken so we can include them here.

Great job everyone!!!
